2.5 nano tank set-up?

I'm planning on setting up a 2.5 gal planted nano tank minimalist style or "iwagumi" style. For the substrate I'll use clay only and no sand for the plants I'm planning Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba" (HC)and rocks for the iwagumi effect. I'm gonna start first with immersed planting since I don't have a co2 tank yet. I have a "clip on" high light and a hang-on cannister filter. Any comments and suggestions would really help. tnx
