One of my fire-bellied toads occasionally makes an (seemingly) involuntary popping or clicking sound.?

This usually happens after he eats and it seems like trapped air is coming out of him. This happened to two of my previous frogs shortly before they died. Is this a disease? A bacteria? Any help would be appreciated.
