Is there a sequel to Easy Rider?

My husband swears there is a sequel to Easy Rider, but I don't think so. I have looked for it on movie sites and cannot find it. I thought Billy and Wyatt both died at the end. He says he saw a movie where Peter Fonda(Wyatt) avenges Billy's death by hunting down the men that shot them. Has anyone else heard of this or seen it?
